Qatar recently took part in the 41st Meeting of the Directors General of Passports of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), which was convened at the GCC General Secretariat’s headquarters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This event brought together representatives from various member states to discuss advancements in passport operations and strategies to enhance public services.
The Qatari delegation, headed by Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Ateeq Al Dosari, Director General of Passports, joined other officials in addressing critical topics related to the modernization of passport services. The focus was on improving the efficiency and coordination of these services among GCC countries, aiming for a more integrated approach.
Throughout the discussions, a consensus emerged on the need to adopt new technologies and processes that would streamline passport and border management services. This effort is seen as essential for keeping pace with the evolving demands of international travel and security.
The meeting concluded with the adoption of a series of recommendations aimed at boosting cooperation and efficiency across the GCC. These recommendations are expected to pave the way for enhanced collaboration and more effective management of border and passport services in the region.
