In a significant move to bolster economic ties, Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al Kuwari, the First Vice Chairman of Qatar Chamber, engaged in discussions with Nguyen Huy Hiep, Vietnam’s Ambassador to Qatar, at the chamber’s Lusail headquarters. The dialogue centered on enhancing economic and trade relationships between Qatar and Vietnam, focusing on fostering collaboration between private sector companies from both nations.
Emphasizing the potential for partnership, Al Kuwari expressed Qatar Chamber’s commitment to facilitating stronger joint investment projects between businesses in Qatar and Vietnam. He commended Vietnam’s robust economic growth and highlighted the chamber’s role in supporting these endeavors. The talks aimed at identifying key sectors ripe for future collaboration and exploring new investment opportunities.
Vietnam’s ambassador, Nguyen Huy Hiep, underlined his country’s eagerness to deepen economic cooperation with Qatar. He pointed out that bilateral trade between the two nations surpassed $860 million in 2024, registering a $100 million increase from the previous year. Ambassador Hiep encouraged Qatari investors to consider ventures in Vietnam, particularly in agriculture, food processing, and halal products.
Highlighting the opportunities for Vietnamese goods in Qatar, Ambassador Hiep emphasized Qatar Chamber’s pivotal role in promoting agricultural and halal products from Vietnam in the Qatari market. He extended an invitation to Qatar Chamber and Qatari business leaders to attend the Vietnam International Sourcing Expo 2026, which is scheduled to take place in September next year in Ho Chi Minh City.
