Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Khulaifi, engaged in separate telephone dialogues with two key international figures: Lebanese Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Tarek Mitri and Mali’s Foreign Minister Abdoulaye Diop. The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations and addressing pressing regional issues.
During his call with Dr. Tarek Mitri, Dr. Al Khulaifi expressed deep concern over the ongoing situation in Lebanon. He strongly denounced the persistent Israeli military operations on Lebanese soil, particularly the expansion of ground offenses in the southern regions, which have also impacted civilian populations. Emphasizing the gravity of these actions, he described them as a violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty and a breach of international law, warning that these escalations pose a significant threat to regional peace and stability. Dr. Al Khulaifi called for an immediate cessation of hostilities, urging full compliance with the ceasefire agreement and the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701. He also appealed to the global community to take decisive measures to halt these violations and safeguard Lebanon’s territorial integrity.
Reaffirming Qatar’s steadfast support, Dr. Al Khulaifi assured Lebanon and its citizens of Qatar’s unwavering commitment during the ongoing crisis. He underscored the importance of international solidarity in addressing these challenges and highlighted Qatar’s readiness to support Lebanon’s sovereignty and stability.
In a separate conversation with Mali’s Foreign Minister Abdoulaye Diop, Dr. Al Khulaifi discussed avenues for enhancing cooperation between Qatar and Mali. The two officials shared their perspectives on the current developments in the African Sahel region, with a focus on maintaining security and stability. Dr. Al Khulaifi reiterated Qatar’s solidarity with Mali, expressing support for the country’s efforts to ensure the safety and security of its people.
