In a podcast interview, Vance expressed his belief that some Israeli officials were interested in continuing the military campaign and had tried to influence US political perceptions against the agreement. He acknowledged that while many nations attempt to impact American policy, the situation becomes problematic when such influences affect the US’s decision-making process.
Vance stood by the agreement reached last month, which seeks to conclude the conflict with Iran and impose limits on Israel’s military operations involving Hezbollah in Lebanon. The Vice President’s comments follow his previous criticisms of the Israeli opposition to the Iran agreement.
